So, I'm doing a little experiment now.
I've been taking 25 mg seroquel for sleep.
Last night, I didn't. I got a nice bit of exercise done, so I felt naturally sleepy.
I also take 60 mg of cymbalta at bedtime. (Depression). Usually I pass out before I feel any of the side effects. Well.... not last night. I felt kinda funny, like a surge o tinglies in my peripheral nervous system, and odd kinesthetic feedback that my body was in 2 pieces, an upper part, and a lower part, like I had participated in the magic experiment where a young lady is sawn in half. Don't worry, it wasn't painful. It was just odd, not to have the sense of unity!
yeah, well. I woke up pretty lucid. Wide and awake after only 4 hours. It's 4 in the morning. I'm gonna try to go back to bed.
Should I just take the seroquel forever? I think it might be making me hungry. I've been eating a lot of sweets, and I feel like eating the SECOnD I get up. Thoughts?

Cymbalta should be taken in the morning as it's energizing and atypical antipsychotics are known for making you hungry. Could you try ambien, or lunesta and better yet a benzo? Love Phillipa

I'll ask pdoc on Thurs about the appetite thing, and about switching the timing of the cymbalta
thanks for the suggestion!

If I were you, I would consider taking Seroquel as needed. It is a wonderful drug for sleep. Yes there are tradeoffs, it may increase your appetite and it may make you groggy for several hours after you awake. To me, it's definitely worth it.

How about Ambien CR or klonopin? Good luck here with both, and the ambien CR has NO hangover in my case.
