I just started Adderall XR today, 5 mg. It doesn't seem like I'm focusing any better, and I feel a little "weird." It's not really a wired feeling, although I did feel that way the first hour of so.
I know it's supposed to have an immediate effect, but has anyone had an experience where it didn't work so well the first few days? I still feel as scatterbrained as ever.
Even though 5 mg is low, I don't see myself going to 10 mg any time soon because it would make me too anxious. Like I said, I already felt a little jittery on 5 mg.

Yes. My experience with Adderall is that it takes around 2-3 weeks before it works to its optimal level. This is not to say that it does not have an effect for the first few days, but it begins to work best at around week 2-3. It could be because of the small dosage I took (like you)... usually around 10 mgs a day.

How do you know that Adderall will make you anxious?
If indeed it does you may be better with the right dose
(be it 10mg, 40mg or even 70mg) combined with som ething
to address the anxiety.Dexedrine is definitely less anxiety provoking, smoother.
For me, 10mg of adderall is similare to a good latte, 50mg

I've taken my friend's 10 mg adderall before to see if it would help me, and I ended up having to take a xanax. I would really rather stay away from taking xanxax or klonopin on a regular basis. I'm hoping that working up to 10 mg slowly will make it OK for me. I was hoping that 5 mg would work, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything for my concentration.Part of my problem is that it seems Lamictal is making me worse. I really feel that my mind isn't working very well. I'm on 300 mg.

^The man knows what he speaks of^Drop the Adderall-a diet pill from the 1970's and take Dexedrine, (if you are set on taking an Amphetamine)-more effective and less SEs

Maybe I will just go without these meds. Maybe I will just try to be more organized and try to pay attention better...
Right now though, I think the Lamictal that I take is making me "dumber."
