take prozac. went from 60 cymbalta to 40 prozac. I had been on prozac for years. adderall 20mg or 40.
abilify 20mg. Synthroid for mood 100 mcg and klonopin 4mgs a day as needed. also Hyzaar for blood pressure.
WAS doing great so much energy good mood. I take lortab on and off for pelvic pain. usually no problem.
Just prescribed it again. I have surgery coming up to remove ovary in a week. Out patient.
SOO all of a sudden I feel hot then cold .. burning in head. anxiety high. very uptight.
stomach upset.
Ran out of synthroid 2 weeks ago.
went up on blood pressure medicine because it went up which we think was caused by cymbalta.
It seems to have started with the switch to prozac but I also went back on lortab wich usually makes me feel good. any thoughts?
I had no withdraw from effexor because I went right to prozac. today I took a cymbalta to see If that was it but I still felt bad. Maybe I'm cycling into depression? I'm a bit scared .. any help would be appreciated.
thanks
Rainee

Hi Rainee,
I don't quite follow your post, dosing schdules etc, but your symptoms sound rather acute. Would you consider going to the ER or at least calling your doc or a pharmacist? Explain your symptoms, particulary the hot/cold thing and nausea. Please?
Kind regards
Meri
Please let us know how you do!

Hi again!
> I have surgery coming up to remove ovary in a week. Out patient.
I only have one ovary! I had one removed at birth because it had a large benign cyst in it. My other ovary now functions as two! I get my period every 30-34 days and apparently won't have any effect on my fertility. Not that I've been trying!!. I have a nice scar running right across my stomach above my belly button. It grew with me!!
Anyway have you rung the doc yet? I really think its best that we get some medical advice on your symptoms IMHO.

Whenever thyroid treatments are interrupted, all hell can break loose. So the lack of synthroid could be involved here.
On top of that, the direct switch to prozac from cymbalta can be rather dramatic as well. With all the norepinephrine reuptake stuff suddenly stopped, and norepinephrine levels falling, that is definitely going to feel very weird. It would also explain the high anxiety. The change in norepinephrine and the change in thyroid both would be involved in erratic body temperature sensations.
You might want to restart the cymbalta and rethink a different plan of crossing over to prozac on a much slower schedule. Dump the contents of prozac into juice and stir and drink custom sized doses. With cymbalta, empty the capsules into a bowl and take a certain amount of beads for custome sized doses. Gradually over weeks increased the prozac and decrease the cymbalta, instead of all at once.
And if it really feels out of hand and scary, especially considering the high blood pressure, it might be wise to go to the ER.

Get the synthroid back in your system ASAP!!!! And take your regular dose and it may take up to a week to stabalize it . The thyroid causes hot and cold and makes you depressed. Sounds like you have hypo due to the synthroid and then ask the doc what else to change. Best to change one med at a time. Love Phillipa
