are there meds available that will specifically treat obsessive thinking? are they in the same class as anti-depressants or are they different?

Anafranil and the SSRI's might help
anafranil is helping my OCD.

Yes, there are meds out there for obsessive thinking. I am on prozac - it is not helping me with obsessive thinking. Cymbalta is supposed to help with that, also effexor.

Zoloft is usually very good for Obsessive or Compulsive components of Schizophrenia. It s also
recommended for OCD. Here's a list of possibles:
Anti-obsessive Agents
Anafranil (clomipramine)
Luvox (fluvoxamine)
Paxil (paroxetine)
Prozac (fluoxetine)
Zoloft (sertraline)
