ADs without Sexual Side Effects? I miss sex!

Posted by TrishP on July 11, 2005, at 17:30:08

Ok - 300mg of Wellbutrin is making me loopy. Effexor makes me happy but unable to enjoy sex or really even care to have it. I'm only taking 75mg of Effexor.

Is there another AD that I can combine with Wellbutrin so that I can have a freakin' orgasim?! Very frustrated with the meds.

There are a few AD meds that lack any real sexial side effects, and some that even enhance it!
One well known med is Mirtazapine (Remeron). Nefazodone (Serzone) and Trazadone are others. Some of them are also added to another AD to block a sexual side effect. Try a simple Google search on these. There's plenty of info about them out there.
Also, I always found the (mainly) Noradrenergic Tricyclics had little sexual side effects.
Best wishes. tecknohed.

My dose of Parnate (10mg/d) feels somewhat prosexual.

If I added Trazadone at night to sleep, would this counteract the sexual side effects of the Effexor?

What does Trazodone feel like? Some people say they can't tolerate it.
