I'd like to hear from anyone who has taken Sinequan or Surmontil. I was thinking about taking just a tiny dose at bedtime rather than a full antidepressant dose. Surmontil sounds like a strange drug and, in most respects, I think it's probably not going to work for me; however, I was interested in the fact that it does NOT suppress REM sleep. I read some posts in the archives about both meds, and some people say that Sinequan is worse as far as side effects; others say that Surmontil is worse as far as side effects. I'd like to hear from anyone who has taken one or the other or both. Thanks.

doxepin, just for sleep. 25mg. No side effects whatsoever. Wonderful REM sleep.
Good luck with your decision!

Doxepin was great for me for a while, I think I was on 150mg. Seemed to be good for my depression too but that wore off :(. Gave me a good night sleep but that also wore off lol. But hey, Zyprexa doesnt even make me sleepy and i hear that its highly sedating lol. Anyeay, yea doxepin for me was very tollerable. I was on surmontil (i think im not quite sure exactly if its the right drug) and if it is, I was only on it for sleep. I would wake up in the morning feeling a bit groggy. Doxepin never did that to me.
