MIRAPEX update / CYMBALTA

Posted by SDW on January 2, 2005, at 23:32:22

I have been taking MIRAPEX for 17 days. I have been at 1.5 mg/day, the lowest therapeutic dose, for about one week.

There have been no noticeable improvements in my symptoms, though this is still a low dose and it may be necessary to hit 2.5 –3mg day before there is any noticeable benefit.

I have also added CYMBALTA (currently 60 mg/day for about one week).

I am seeking relief for anhedonia/apathy and fatigue

I welcome experiences people have had with either or both of these meds.

Wishing everyone a Euthymic New Year….

Hi SDW

I'm on Cymbalta 60mg and Mirapex .5mg. I've been on the Mirapex for 4 months. My doc and I have decided that the Cymbalta is causing - if not exasterbating - my apathy, so we're switching to Lexapro. He wants to try to augment with Metyrapone (1000mg) before increasing the Mirapex. We're not exactly sure it's the Cymbalta that's been causing the increased apathy - but it seemed to get worse for me soon after starting the Cymbalta. HOWEVER - it may work for you. I don't mean to be a downer!

The main symptoms of my depression are severe apathy/anhedonia and fatigue as well. Keep us updated as you move the Mirapex up to a higher dose. Any side effects?

Jerry
