Tramadol (Ultram) and grapefruit juice

Posted by BradD on December 27, 2004, at 10:15:33

Hello
I have a question. Is there any interaction between taking Tramadol with grapefruit juice? Is Tramadol metabolized by enzyme 3A4 ? I know that grapefruit juice affects alprazolam (Xanax) and diazepam (Valium), but I'm wondering about Tramadol (Ultram) since I use it for my social phobia with great results.

Take care
Brad

Tramadol has an active metabolite via the enzyme 2D6. As far as I know, that's it. Sorry, grapefruit will not affect this drug.
