not methamphetamine, amphetamine.
I've heard much convtroversy of destruction of dopamine nuerons caused by use of Methamphetamine, but not from amphetamine.
Are both equally destructive?

it really depends on the amount of dopamine that reaches the receptor. I would assume that the receptor can easily tolerate dopamine withing a certain range.
Ie, it you are taking your medication to get high, this is probably neurotoxic. However, taken as prescribed it is probably not.

I take 60mg of adderall daily, in one dose. Under the supervision of my doctor.
But still do you think this is too high?

The reason that ADHD is treated with stimulants becaus the theory says that certain neurons are not recieving enought dopamine. This is what causes the impulsivity, distractability, and lack of concentration.
If you were to get too much at the neuron, you would start to see all sorts of other behavior first.
When doses are given to mice high enough to induce neurotoxicity, certain behaviors will always accompany this dopaminergic overload.

when i first began this dose it gave me a feeling of "well-being", not suprisingly because of course its amphetamine!
But after it leveled out and i just felt in my normal mood, no *elevation*, well, its not as noticeable as it was. I still sometimes feel more awake.
I dont want to raise, or take anymore than this because i know it will be nuerotoxic at those high doses taken daily.
I'm just trying to be safe.

I understand. There are ways to augment stimulants. THe first and foremost is to make sure you're eating the best you can.
Nothing profound here...
