The reason that ADHD is treated with stimulants becaus the theory says that certain neurons are not recieving enought dopamine. This is what causes the impulsivity, distractability, and lack of concentration.

If you were to get too much at the neuron, you would start to see all sorts of other behavior first.

When doses are given to mice high enough to induce neurotoxicity, certain behaviors will always accompany this dopaminergic overload.
