What about using the generic version of mirtazapine?

Hi Donna,
Xanax & Klonopin aren't that much different to Valium, mostly they are less sedating. You could ask for Neurotin, or another antipsychotic, but there is little point if you refuse to take tablets. You'd be better off talking to people in the Psychology board: http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/psycho/
Cheers,
Panda.

Crazychick,
You responded to my post about my friend who is trying to get off Effexor, I agree the Mental Health teams in the UK are sadly under resourced and lacking in motivation and yes this problem is very prevalent, keep your chin up and know you have support in this board, as a person who is standing back watching and hoping that things will get better for my friend I hope you have someone near you who can give you support. Take good care of yourself and remember on those down days, everybody with no exception makes a difference being in this world. All good wishes and I hope you find what you are looking for.

Most mental health trusts in the UK offer CBT now, so CBT *is* a real option.. I'm just coming up to my second anniversary of starting CBT - I'm in West London.. but mental health services in London are not better than anywhere else, infact, often worse!
I can't advise med wise.. been here done it on all of them, and have finally settled on Omega 3 oils which seem to be working well.
CBT has been a life saver for me though for my anxiety.
Good luck with the psychiatrist.. Do insist on refferal to a psychologist though.. you need both and want to get that refferal in ASAP!!! Refuse to leave till he/she agrees to refer you!!
Nikki
