Increase in Lexapro. What should I expect?

Posted by BRC on May 12, 2004, at 8:40:02

I saw my pdoc yesterday and he increased my Lexapro from 20mg to 40mg. I was wondering if the increase takes time to become effective (like when you initially start an antidepressant 4-6 weeks). Or should I expect results (if any) quicker since I am already on the med. Any info or insight would be greatfully appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I also feel the effects of an increase in lexapro within one to two days. Sometimes if I take it at night, I feel better the next day. Good luck!

It's been a few months since I went from 20 to 30mg. Unlike the other responders, I do not recall having any problems, I just felt relief from being crabby and upset. Hopefully your trasition will be a smooth one also.~~~8|8

I just re-read Bill and Holymama replies again --- they did not actually say they had problems, sorry if I interpreted incorrectly. I did experience relief within a couple of days.
