I have taken both Wellbutrin and Strattera and Strattera is superior in all aspects....better concentration, better antidepressant effect, fewer side effects. It also doesn't induce mania or hypomania like Wellbutrin can.

Thank you! Good to know. Did Wellbutrin make you very nauseous, dizzy and nervous?

I started with Straterra. While it helped calm me, it did nothing for my inattentative ADD, and made me sleepy. I switched to Wellbutrin which I like better because I'm no longer sleepy. I'm on Adderrall also.

Focus still isn't there.

Which one of the two, wellbutrin and strattera would be best for someone with serious anxiety issues and add?

As far as weight-related side-effects are concerned, if anything, I've LOST weight (a happy little coincidence for me). This seemed to about through a lack of appetite. I just had no interest in food. 4 months later, this symptom has alleviated itself, but not 100%. I like food again, but don't feel I need it too often. Sometimes I won't eat for over 24 hours and it hardly seems to matter. Needless to say, while I HAVE lost weight, my slimmer physique hasn't exactly given me the healthiest aspect. I look a little gaunt. To counteract this, I've started working out and making sure that when I DO eat, I eat right. Finding that I've quickly acquired a healthier glow. Watch what you eat and be sure to exercise.

Also, while I am much less scattered on Strattera, I just haven't felt that the med has delivered on effectively treating my ADD. I still can't really get things done, but I do get closer. As for the host of other side-effects you'll encounter, some may prove to be VERY intense and uncomfortable, but don't sweat it. They dissipate fairly quickly. Just be sure to take your meds regularly or risk the recurrence of several of these side-effects, albeit for a much shorter duration. Good luck!

Several besides the weight loss and decreased appetite I mentioned. There's dry mouth, nausea, mildly burning eyes, intermittent increased perspiration, & "difficult" BM's. There are several others I can think of, but I believe they may only affect men.
Some of these sysmptoms semmed intolerable at first, but they wore off relatively quick - after only a week or so. However, I experienced the side-effects in succession and not all at once, which made the process that much more drawn out. That is, I had some side-effects at first which, when they subsided, were replaced by other side effects and then those were replaced by yet more. Don't remember for sure, but the cumulative duration of the side-effects was at least 5-6 weeks. No individual symptom lasted nearly that long. I DID accidentally go off the Strat for 4 days and, unfortunately, experienced a recurrence of several side-effects when I went back on. They were, however, much less intense and very brief. I think I was fine after 3-4 days.
