Hey I was started by my doc on a benzo and i keep reading stuff about the benzo's long term liver toxicity. is there a real threat? my p doc says that if they work i mihgt take them for long term. does anyone know?

Never heard of that, and I keep up. Where did you read this? There's a lot of anti- treatment tripe on the web- don't beleive everything you surf into.
Actually benzos are really safe and effective. They've been used for 50 years and done a lot of good for a lot of people (saved my life). I doubt your MD would give you something that would hurt you.missliz

For example rxlist.com says that it is recommended to do periodical liver and blood count tests if you are treated with benzo's for more then 6 months. this is not what they say for any ohter anti depressants such as : paxil, prozac etc.
