Is there anyone out there who knows the equivalencys between the SSRI's? For example, 20 mgs prozac=40 mgs paxil <example
Im on 300 mgs of luvox and i was wondering what the equivalent of that would be to all the other SSRI's

Here's my understanding:
(Roughly)
20 mg fluoxetine (Prozac)
20 mg citalopram (Celexa)
5 mg escitalopram (Lexapro)
20 mg paroxetine (Paxil)
50 mg sertraline (Zoloft)I could be wrong, these drugs are not my forte. Anyone?

I read somewhere that lexapro, paxil, and zoloft
were the most potent mg/mg. Lexapro/celexa are the most selective.Linkadge

hmm, the only thing a doc once told me is that
40mg Prozac == 20mg Celexa
And my Personal opinion: 20mg Celexa is closer to 10mg Lexapro than 5mg. Yes, the inactive ingredient of Celexa prevents the good one from working, but I dont think it is as significant to say 5mg Lexapro == 20mg Celexa

The only change I would make is to say 10 mg Lexapro. Just a guess.

Change 5mg Lexapro to 10mg, 50mg Zoloft to 75mg, and that would seem pretty accurate to me-- though paroxetine is more potent than fluoxetine, but, yeah whatever.

Luvox is a very exceptional SSRI as it is metabolized at a different cite on cytochrome p450
That is, even if all SSRI's fail, Luvox may very well not fail.
I know this didn't answer ur question, but I believe that there is no real answer to it as each of them targets different symptoms (did I say that right?)
Like coming up w/ a benzo equiv. chart:
in my opinion that is only to be seen in regards to potency but not in respect to efficacy, as some may be efficious in areas where others are not.
Rohypnol (flunitrazepam) for example, cannot be put onto any scale with respect to its therapeutic effect on insomnia. It's the one and only and best. ...and believe me: I have been through the spectrum of benzos.
