my face and hands are so dry. I try to drink more fluids but it hasn't done anygood. Also, has anyone had the effect of getting very emotional and depressed and wanting to cry? I got that for about a couple hours when i went up to the 75mg strength. it was on the very first dose of the 75mg

Hi kattay..I experienced a lot of hyperactivity when I first started Effexor, which caused a lot of "cotton-mouth" and overall dryness, that eventually went away once my body got adjusted to the medication. Just keep yourself hydrated the best you can. As for the emotional roller-coaster, I experience that with almost every medication I go on! I just tell myself that it's going to happen every time, and that it's just a side effect, not a character flaw, and that it too shall pass! I know, easier said than done, but hang in there...Effexor is a real life saver for me, and hopefully it will work for you too. Keep in touch and good luck!
