I am finally off topamax, i don't know if i am happy about it or not, i guess i will find out soon. but i wondered if anyone had any opinions about going from 50mg to 0mg in 5 days. was that stupid? or does it matter, since it was low to begin with? has anyone else done this? i haven't seen my doctor to discuss it, i just wanted off it so badly to get rid of the side effects. i guess i could blame this on topamax if i did do something stupid. any suggestions would be helpful

My doc told me 50 mg was a "baby dose" and unless you are taking it for seizures there is no reason you can't stop it. The side effects take a while to go away, and I finally had to take something for anxiety because that lovely side effect would not go away. Been off Topomax for almost 7 weeks, and it is the best Christmas present I got-having my life back. I took it for migraines.

When I was on 50 mg topamax with 1.5 klonopin, I cryed almost twice a day. I reduced from 50mg to 0 mg, in two days, felt like vacum suck the top of my head and I was easy to get angry and feel crazy. next day. I'was back to 25mg (half in the morning and half in the evening) and add 12.5mg paxil cr for about 10 days now , I'm doing much better . I rember someone here said topamax is good to treat anger, and it seems very low dosage (25mg) does work for me ( I used to be very easy to get angry)
