Amisulpride at 100mg...need advice (again)

Posted by ace on December 21, 2003, at 23:49:47

Just over 3 weeks of Ami at 50mg - feeling a tiny bit of extra motivation...not much. But i am sure it will work...it might take 1 more week at 50mg.

however should i boost it to 100mg now or wait 'til the 4th week mark? then do 100mg for a week or two befor giving up?

any experiences at 100mg...or at 100mg where 50mg failed?

Thankyou my sweet and lovely brothers and sisters!

Ace.

I have found 100mg more 'activating' than 50mg. A bit of sedation and a mild anxiolytic effect starts to set in at 150mg, for me. However, I certainly noticed something was different at 50mg. YMMV.

Really, I don't understand why you are giving it such a long trial at that dosage, it's not a SSRI; you should benefit immediately from whatever dose you take.

Most people get a reasonably quick boost. However, I have certainly heard of 4 week delays in therapeutic action. Also, I am one of these people where meds take a long time to kick in (except benzos ofcourse)- it's annoying to have to wait so long, but then again, meds never ever stop working for me. You know what I mean?

How long 'til Ami helped you?

I would say I felt the benefits immediately, however, you are right that we all respond differently to meds. Though I really don't think it would be necessary to spend more than 2 weeks at a particular dosage of this drug to give it a fair evaluation.
