80% inhibition has been achieved: I'm back!!!!!!!!

Posted by ace on June 18, 2003, at 0:07:49

Yep, it's kicked right back in. I felt it actually around 12-15 hrs after Larry posted the note to me about it kicking in soon.

Yesterday was great but I was a little wary to think It's back in full time.

Today has confirmed it: The Nardil feel is back!!!

When I had a few days on 60mg of hypomania something wasn't right- I was too high, the Nardil calm happiness wasn't there. Then it slowly petered out and a mild episodic apathy ensued. If anyone has had this experience when first starting Nardil give it another shot.

Now it's back- it's a steady feeling of total happiness and motivation, also confidence and fearlessness. And it's a smooth calm- like Ross has said Nardil is a hummer! The 90mg feel of bliss is unmistakable- It's just rapture!
I enjoy every activity in life (except...um...those naughty movies!!- but actually no sign of anorgasmia yet!)
The only thing is the OCD (it's proved to be a real kick in the teeth for derealization/anxiety! Maybe even better than when I was on 90mg before). I will augment with low dose Zyprexa. But the OCD is only annoying- it can't upset me- on Nardil it's impossible to be depressed.

I am simply oustanding by this miracle of psychopharmacology!!!

Ask any questions, I love you all

Ace,
Nardil Champion, 90mg.

Best med I have ever been on. Now if only I could something equally as good in a mood stabiliser and then I would be set.

Hopefully more and more doctors will catch on and be willing to prescribe it more often.

Congratulations! I have a few questions.
-Have you tried all the SSRI's? If so, why did you quit taking them?

-What is your diagnosis?

-Do you suffer from insomnia?

-Have you tried Strattera?

I've been diagnosed with depression and have been trying to achieve normal functioning\energy levels for the past 10 yrs. of my life. I've tried most SSri's and am currently on 10 mg. of Lexapro for 2 mos. and Klonipin at night when needed. I'm self employed so have been able manage when I hit rough times.

Tried Nardil 10years ago for a few days and couldn't get out of bed due to already having low blood pressure.

Your experience on Nardil has made me extremely curious and envious.

Thanks for any feedback and once again CONGRATULATIONS!

-Have you tried all the SSRI's? If so, why did you quit taking them?

Pretty much! Most at least. Weight gain, flat-mood, horrible day-time fatigue (some worse than anything Nardil gives me), and just little to no response are just some reasons I gave up on SSRIs.

-What is your diagnosis?

Social Phobia w/ Major Depression

-Do you suffer from insomnia?

Yes, but it's getting better week by week.

-Have you tried Strattera?

No. But if it's a stimulant, I've gotten away with using everything from MDMA to Methamphetamine with no hypertensive crisis.

As far as hypotension goes there are many meds that react with MAOIs (Nardil at least) to slightly (or dramatically if need be) raise/stabilize blood pressure.

On a personal note - I think your doc should have taken some action to try and correct that side-effect than just having you quit. A few days isn't a fair trail.

Best wishes!

-Carlos

I was on Zoloft for ages- it helped OCD only very minimally. Didn't help anxiety or depression. Tried Luvox, it gave me insomnia.
Tried others but Nardil dusts 'em all!

> -What is your diagnosis?

1. Obsessive Compulsive Disorder- Severe and refractory to treatment

2. Depersonalization Syndrome

3. Phobic Anxiety (of derealization)

4. episodic Depression

5. Social Phobia

and just about every other anxiety disorder!

> -Do you suffer from insomnia?

From Nardil? No. It helps me sleep.

> -Have you tried Strattera?

No.

You sound like you would benifit greatly from Nardil. BP can be contolled with concomitant medication if need be. Nardil is better than anything else. Period.

Thanks! Give Nardil a try then you'll know what it truly means to be walking on Gold!

Thanks for answering my questions and sharing your story. I will complete my trial w/ Lex at a higher dose and if i remain the same i will discuss Nardil with my doc in a month.
Meanwhile i'll dream of walking on gold with a bit of platinum mixed in.
Thanks again and I have to say it, CONGRATULATIONS!

Ace, my Nardil comrade, I think fish oil w /Nardil would take care of the OCD and DR both. It does for me.
