I've tried most SSri's and am currently on 10 mg. of Lexapro for 2 mos. and Klonipin at night when needed. I'm self employed so have been able manage when I hit rough times.

-Have you tried all the SSRI's? If so, why did you quit taking them?Pretty much! Most at least. Weight gain, flat-mood, horrible day-time fatigue (some worse than anything Nardil gives me), and just little to no response are just some reasons I gave up on SSRIs.
-What is your diagnosis?
Social Phobia w/ Major Depression
-Do you suffer from insomnia?Yes, but it's getting better week by week.
-Have you tried Strattera?
No. But if it's a stimulant, I've gotten away with using everything from MDMA to Methamphetamine with no hypertensive crisis.
As far as hypotension goes there are many meds that react with MAOIs (Nardil at least) to slightly (or dramatically if need be) raise/stabilize blood pressure.
On a personal note - I think your doc should have taken some action to try and correct that side-effect than just having you quit. A few days isn't a fair trail.
Best wishes!
