I have been on a daily dose of Lexapro for six months.
I want to get off this drug. I'm looking for tips.

> I want to get off this drug. I'm looking for tips.I'm currently going off of lexapro and on to Effexor. I started taking 75mg/day of Effexor for one week
and then at week two began to cut my lexapro dose from 20mg/day to 10 day as I increased my Effexor to 150mg/day.
Today was my last day of lexapro-- can't say if I've noticed any effects, maybe some jaw clenching recently.

It's tougher to stop an antidepessant if you are not going to replace it. The only advice I know of is to do it very gradually, maybe over a period of 4 weeks.

should discuss this with your dr. ..... he/she could offer something for support while you are quitting the lex.
good luck!

Can not speak from personal experience, only what I have read here.
Other posters seem to have an easier time of it by reducing dosage GRADUALLY (that seems to be the KEY!!!)
Some posters have mentioned a cold turkey attempt and had bad reactions or side effects.
I MOST DEFFINITELY agree that your DR should be involved, do not try to medicate your self.
BEST OF LUCK!!
