Hello,
My son got Celexa for free from our County. He went to the County psychiatrist and she filled out some form and a week (sorry) later, he had a bottle of 100 tablets for free! Ask your doctor if he/she knows about this form, or try calling some of the pharmacists in your area.
You might also try going on line to the Celexa manufacturer and search around to see if there is any link to any kind of form for low income qualifications. I know for a fact that the Celexa manufacturer has allotments of freebies for people who qualify. My experience with my son getting it for free was only in late February, so this is current information I am giving you.
Good luck!

Most pharmaceutical companies have a patient assistance program for those who don't have insurance or qualify for state aid. Usually the doctor initiates the process by calling and requesting the necessary form. If you can get the 800 number for the manufacturer (Forest??)they can give you the 800 number for their Drug Assistance Program. Good Luck!

Denize,
The following information is from a quick search I did on this site with the term "free meds" and the following links might be of help in locating the 800 numbers for the pharm. companies or point you in the right direction for agencies that can assist you in getting prescription medications when you cannot afford them.
Good luck.

Several hospitals in my area (NH) have "Patient Assistant Programs" that coordinate with the drug companies to provide low or no-cost medications to people with no insurance or no drug coverage. I would call your local hospital(s) and ask if they have such a program. You might even be able to find the information online, if the hospital(s) have a website.
You can also try the website: www.themedicineprogram.com
Good luck!

Do you have insurance at all? My son didnt, and we contacted the Human Resources people in our county. They can provide low or no cost insurance in many cases and sometimes Medicaid. My son is 23 and single. (He is also unable to work at this time, so he recieved General Assistance)

I live in Los Angeles county and was wondering what options I have since my insurance dropped me for "pre-exsisting" conditions? I have no insurance and am unable to work right now with depression and horrible anxiety.

Most SSRIs are pretty similar.
I deliberately choose fluoxetine because it's patent has expired and cheap generics are available.
I always do a self pay price check on a med before I consider trying it, to make sure that I could continue if I lost insurance.
And I let my doctors (not just pdocs) know that I want off-patient generic medications unless there is overwheleming evidence that some propriatery med is justified.

Yes Denize here is the toll free number you can call and they can give you all the information you need so you can get coverage it is:
1-866-432-5849
As long as you are a New York state resident you should have no problems.
For all others who do not live in New York state you might want to try calling this number and perhaps they could be able to help you with any kind of coverage in the state you reside in. Give it a try you never know.
This is the end of the thread.
