Hi all- I am so mad at my pdoc office and him. Here is the situation. My doc originally gave me samples of Seroquel 25mg over a month ago. He told me to take 25mg and if I cannot sleep to up it to 50mg and no more than 75mg. I take 25mg-50mg every night. 50 pills at 25mg each lasted me 30days. So last time I saw him(I see him every two weeks)he gave me a Rx for the Seroquel. I told him I was taking 25-50mg a night. What does he do? He writes the Rx for Seroquel take half tablet at bedtime of 25mg. HELLO that will last me like a week. And of course my Rx coverage will only give a month supply so I got quantity 15 tablets. So I called the pharmacy and told them the situation and they called my doc office. The stupid receptionist said that Rx was correct. That is what she shows in the file. My doc won't be in til Wed. and I see him on Fri. I have nothing left. The receptionist was so rude to me. She was answering the other line while I was talking to her! Don't people know that I cannot just stop taking meds!!!! I am friggen mad. My pharmacy said they would call the doc office again and they can give me 4 pills until I see my doc. What am I supposed to do. I'm in a panic. Isn't the doc supposed to call in and check what is going on. It's not like this a Rx for motrin! Sorry I had to vent. You guys would be able to empathize.

Ask for more samples or if you can only get X number of pills, get the largest mg's possible and break them up.
Or ask for another sleep meds to tide you over till you can refill next month.

That is completely unacceptable. Your pdoc may have misunderstood or made a mistake in writing out the script. Nevertheless, his receptionist should be able to get ahold of him to correct the error. The lower dose may be written in the chart but if you and he discussed a different dosing, then the chart is wrong. Trust me, it happens.
I took Seroquel 25-50 mg at bedtime for 15 months. It was very helpful in treating several dynamics with my diagnoses. Call his receptionist back and insist she contact the pdoc or the doc on call for him. It can be done. Good luck.

Wow jill,
ok, so the pharmacist gave you enough until you see your doc on Friday?? Or at least until he is in Wed and you can talk to him? My pharmacist does the same thing and helps me if I need medication or while waiting for a c-Pass to cover it.
YES! Docs should know we can't just stop a med. That's how I eneded up in the ER becausse my doc failed to give me enough Klonopin-and I was taking the prescribed dose.
Do you think your doc was maybe pre-occupied? (Which he shouldn't have been if so) He is human believe it or not (something I myself have to realize lol)
Forget about the rude receptionist-don't allow her to rent space in your head.
So do you have enough Seroquel until you see your doc????
