hey has anyone read the Noonday Demon by Andrew solomon? If so, what did you think? I really liked it- well written, very insightful and well researched.

I'd just like to plug the double double quotes feature at this site:
http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/faq.html#amazon
The first time anyone refers to a book without using this option, I post this to try to make sure he or she at least knows about it. It's just an option, though, and doesn't *have* to be used. If people *choose* not to use it, I'd be interested in feedback on why not, but that should be redirected to Psycho-Babble Administration:

Thanks!
Bob

Warning! I got to skim a few dozen pages while in the store and it looked well-written so I bought it. I was extremely depressed when I started it, and before I got very far into the book, (and I was also jumping around other chapters,) I was feeling worse. So I had to quit reading it until maybe some time in the future when I'm not depressed.

I think it's a marvelous piece of work. I recommend reading the chapter called "Hope" first, then going back and reading various sections in random order, depending on one's interest.
The Hope chapter in itself is masterful reflection.

Could discussion about books be redirected to Psycho-Babble Books? Thanks,
Bob
PS: And follow-ups regarding posting policies be redirected to Psycho-Babble Administration...
