Hi.
Has anyone been able to fill a prescription for Nardil? Every pharmacy in my area has it back-ordered and does not have a clue as to when it might become available again.
Nardil was recalled for some kind of quality control issue.

I found it.I spoke to the manufacturer today. There was a recall of a single lot of product. However, they ran into problems retooling at the factory. The representative told me that Nardil was expected to be available sometime in January. We'll see.

So did your doc give you something to take in the meantime? I don't know if my supply will last that long..... They might put you on Parnate until they have it......
I found a pharmacy that had it last time, I hope they have some more left

HMMMM, back in November those same Nardil reps told Me, my Pharmacist, and my DR. that it would be available the first week of DECEMBER....
I didn't believe them then, and im not sure I believe them now...
FWIW, I've moved on to Parnate, with NO problems

Nardil has been gaining in popularity - but apparently there is not a heck of lot of money in it. I heard from a pharmacist another drug company was going to pick up the slack.
My question is - if it is dropped - then I would like to know what I need to do to assume rights to market this drug? I will give a cool name though like all the new SSRI's and SNRI's they keep coming out which cause libido and orgasmic failure (sorry Prozac I did not mean you). Anyway - a cool name and directions for making this drug - I will do it. Can anyone help instruct me what is my next step(s)?
PS: What is a good name? hmmmm.....
lets see... lexaPRO ... EFFExor (effective) .... WELLbutrin.... REMeron .... ProVIGIL(ANCE) ....
ProConfident .... NoFearin ... Sectasy ...
Prostud ... any help appreciated here too...Chad
http://www.socialfear.com/PS: Any patent guys out there ... can I get a new patent on an abanoned drug - or maybe tweak it - add a benign molecule or something and get the 17 year patent on that baby?
Thank in advance

Dear Chad,Have you been able to verify this from an independent source?

Same here - the rep on the customer service line two weeks ago, said, "Oh it's available no problem." Dumb shit (pardon my french). I only wonder if the "retooling" thing is another bogus story. Who gave you that explanation - sales rep. - somebody on the customer service line? I'm ready to demand to speak to the product manager - I want the truth.

SLS -
I think you meant the availability part - and not the popularity or money part ... but anyways ... I have only one source and that is the guy who is the pharmacist at the Kmart down the street. I called him back after asking he said he called (the manufacturer I think he said but not positive) - but that someone else was picking it up in December.
That is my only source - just a report from a guy at Kmart.
I thought someone else was saying it is available some other way as stated by manufacture later in this page ... don't know but I am ready to market that stuff if no one else will...

If I get to take right to market - I will that sucker a tweak and it will be a "brank new" MAOI inhibitor with characteristics as described in 2002 - not as in 1955 or whatever. It will be a gabaergic partially irreversible MAOI to be FDA approved for Social Anxiety Disorder, "Avoidant Personality Disorder" (thought personality disorders were supposedly untreatable) ... "Atypical Depression". Maybe others like panic but Nardil rules so much for the first two and as a new drug with a new name and a new profile - it will ROCK $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
