I have had a partial response to 300mg per day Wellbutrin SR after several weeks. I do not feel entirely well.
How do I know whether to increase my WB dose or try another drug?
I would appreciate hearing any stories about increasing WB dose, successful or otherwise.

For what it's worth, I went from 300mg per day to 450mg of Wellbutrin SR and did see an improvement. This was while I was taking Paxil as well. Don't know if you have ever tried an SSRI, but it can be an effective 1-2 punch. Usually you don't need an overally large dose of the SSRI augmentation. In any event, I found the larger dose of Wellbutrin effectively stimulating.

Thanks for your response. I have indeed had a good response from Celexa in the past, but I had hopes that Wellbutrin would work for me without the undesirable side effects of Celexa: sexual blahs and apathy/lethargy.
Wellbutrin keeps me moving, but I don't get anywhere near the sense of well-being that I got from Celexa. Any suggestion that WB has anxiolytic effects equivalent to an SSRI is way wrong, as far as I am concerned.
Now I am trying to decide whether to augment WB with Celexa and in what amounts, or to take Serzone for a test drive.

I agree. Short term (for me a few months) SSRI's are great. It just comes to the dreaded "damned if you do, damned if you don't" factor in terms of apathy and lethargy after a while. If you do go the combo route, I'd recommend starting with a small dose of the SSRI. Hopefully that would lessen the bad aspects while getting some benefit from the Wellbutrin. (Just as an aside- I often wondered how combining Ritalin with an SSRI would work, assuming you could convince someone to prescribe it).
I have been on Nardil for about 7 or 8 weeks and it's working great so far. Because of it I'm willing to overlook the side effects, but talk about sexual dysfunction and insomnia...

shouldn't be a problem getting a stimulant, if the doc is aware that there is first line evidence supporting it's use as an augmentation (as well as lithium, thyroid, antipsychotic and buspirone)

i bumped up from 75mgx4, to 75mgx5. it took a couple weeks to level off/headaches and such. but what i notice is totally no breakthrough in suicidal thinking. i'm just not able to do it at all (think about it, that is.) i have too much drive. i don't take anything else with it besides the occasional xanax.
