Ross!
That's great! I'm so glad to hear you're doing better. I followed your posts for awhile when you had to go off the other AD (Effexor?) and wait, then go on the Nardil - and wait. (I've been incommunicado for awhile...too many migraines)
I recently started Nardil myself. I'm up to 60 mg. (30 mg 2x day) I'm actually shooting for a decrease in migraines, in a roundabout way, so I haven't noticed an improvement yet. The Neurologist said it would take at least 6 weeks before I starting seeing any improvement in that area.
But when it comes to depression or mood swings, I haven't had much trouble. I think the Lamictal has helped me through the transition.
One thing I have noticed...I don't seem to be having any seratonin related side effects like I get with every SSRI. I'm very, very happy about that!
Out of curiosity, why did you increase to 75 mg?
Hope things continue to go well,

Does Nardil or Parnate help w/ migraines? I suffer w/ 4 or 5 per month. Effexor made them even worse. Now I take Celexa w/ limited results and am considering Parnate. If it can help w/ the migraines it is even more attractive.
Love and luck,
Carly

Hi Carly,
I'm not able to tell yet whether or not the Nardil is working to prevent migraines. I haven't had a migraine in...oh, wow...12 days. That's actually pretty good. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
I'll post a message when I have an idea.
BTW I have noticed an improvement in social phobia symptoms. Its wonderful. No more heart beating out of my chest, hot flashes and sweating, stress about group functions (ya know, like meetings at work...sheesh). Its almost like they just disappeared. And to think I once my told my doctor "No, I don't have anxiety". I was a little depressed at the time, couldn't think straight.
I hope you find something wonderful for your migraines. Lamictal has been wonderful, its just not enough. I actually had less headache when I tried Celexa, but couldn't take the side effects.
Oh, I have also found, through trial and error, that I can take Fiorinal when I have a migraine (if its not a major whammy) and still work. It has caffeine, aspirin and butalbital (sp?).
Lots of luck and I'll follow up (soon I hope!)
