Dexedrine experiences?

Posted by 3 Beer Effect on October 23, 2001, at 3:58:44

I used to take Ritalin 20 mg twice a day for ADD. The Ritalin works very well for 3.5 hours in helping me focus & complete my homework. One thing I do not like about it is that it makes me feel weird & anti-social. I have tried Adderall 20 mg & did not like it because it takes too long to start working- much of the time I couldn't even tell if it was working or not.

What is Dexedrine or Dextrostat like? How long is it effective- is it effective for longer than the 3.5 hours ritalin is effective for? Ritalin took about a half hour to start working, how long does it take for dexedrine to start working? Also, how much does it help you focus compared to adderall or ritalin or Desoxyn? I read somewhere that the d isomer of amphetamine which is dexedrine exhibits stronger CNS effects with less peripheral effects (restlessness, increased heart rate, locomotion etc.) than Desoxyn (Methamphetamine Hcl).

Also, has anyone found a place on the internet where you can order dexedrine without a prescription?

I haven't tried dexedrine, but took Aderrall for
a while and found the response curve to work well
for me. Sorry it didn't work well for you.
Supposedly dexedrine kicks in faster but lasts
shorter.

With regards to your question about non-prescription
dexedrine. FORGET IT. Don't even type something like
that on a news group for your own safety.
Dexedrine is dextroamphetamine
*a highly controlled substance* by the DEA.
One stones throw away from the
street drug "speed" (methamphetamine).

I find dex to be very similar to ritalin - lasts maybe an hour longer.

However, I find the extended release of dex works much better (~8hours) than the extended release forms of ritalin that I've tried: ritalin sr, ~an hour longer in duration; & metadate, ~maybe a couple hours longer duration.
