I find dex to be very similar to ritalin - lasts maybe an hour longer.
However, I find the extended release of dex works much better (~8hours) than the extended release forms of ritalin that I've tried: ritalin sr, ~an hour longer in duration; & metadate, ~maybe a couple hours longer duration.
> I used to take Ritalin 20 mg twice a day for ADD. The Ritalin works very well for 3.5 hours in helping me focus & complete my homework. One thing I do not like about it is that it makes me feel weird & anti-social. I have tried Adderall 20 mg & did not like it because it takes too long to start working- much of the time I couldn't even tell if it was working or not.

Ritalin took about a half hour to start working, how long does it take for dexedrine to start working? Also, how much does it help you focus compared to adderall or ritalin or Desoxyn? I read somewhere that the d isomer of amphetamine which is dexedrine exhibits stronger CNS effects with less peripheral effects (restlessness, increased heart rate, locomotion etc.) than Desoxyn (Methamphetamine Hcl).
