Then I got my serum level tested and discovered that it was very high (above 500 ng/mL is considered potentially toxic). So I went down to 150 mg, but it seems not to be helping nearly as well (although it's definitely still helping). So I'm going to ask my pdoc if I can go up to 225 (one and a half of the 150 mg tablets) and then see how the level is.

I'm also beginning with desipramine, I started at a very low dose i.e. 50 mg. The noradrenergic AD are the only ones I can tolerate. There is not much of them...
I've got dysthymia and depression and Borderline personality.Sigolène.

I started at 25 mg.

Yeah, you're pretty much stuck with tricyclics, I guess. There is the selective MAO-B inhibitor selegiline (AKA l-deprenyl). Stimulants are something to consider also.

TCAs aren't supposed to work for borderline personality. On the other hand, BPD is such an overused diagnosis that it probably shouldn't be taken too seriously.
