YES!! There is an issue with not drinking grapefruit juice with some meds, although unfortunately, I cannot recall which ones you should NOT drink grapefruit juice with.

Avoid grapefruit juice if you are taking alprazolam (Xanax). Grapefruit juice increases the blood level of Xanax (via cytochrome enzyme [CYP3A4] inhibition) with eventual increased in side effects. Grapefruit juice has similar effects on a number of other drugs such as buspirone (BuSpar), cholesterol-lowering drugs, certain blood pressure medications, drugs for HIV, anti-rejection drugs (e.g., cyclosporine), etc. Check the following excellent website for a more detailed description of Grapefruit juice - drug interactions, authored by a Canadian pharmacist:

It's not an absolute contraindication. But you may need a lower dose of Xanax if you're taking it with grapefruit juice -- and just how much lower a dose you'll need is pretty variable.
Personally, I take Xanax occasionally and have sometimes had grapefruit juice with it. I've never had a problem with the combination. It won't kill you, but you should be careful (don't try to drive or anything, try to figure out how much you need to adjust your dose by, etc.).

Does this apply to psychostimulants too?
I'm taking Adderall and grapegruit juice is one of my favorite morning drinks.
