I have taken Paxil for 2 years for my dysthymic problems and terrets syndrome/gad/panic/anxiety and smoked a lot of hash oil( several times a day every day) that was cut with chemicals affecting serotonin levels. I just didn't know at the time. Now I have almost all of the symptoms of serotonin syndrome. ( racing heart which will occur out of the blue, tremmors, speach slurs, diahrea, I am confused half of the time, I feel like I am not even here. I am off of the Paxil now for a month. How long will these symptoms occur? Will this syndrome correct itself? I am going to start taking wellbutrin and maybe add a benzo later on if my anxiety is too great to cope with. I am going to wait until I feel normal before I start the wellbutrin though. I am afraid to go to my doctor because he probably doesn't know anything about seritonin syndrome and he will probably just tell me it's something else. I truely hate this plz help!

That doesn't sound particularly like the "serotonin syndrome." Your symptoms are pretty general. Serotonin syndrome is an acute medical emergency; it's not something that continues for weeks.
Can I ask what exactly you believe the hash was cut with?

Well I'm not really sure what exactly it was cut with but I would get different Oil every week or so and a lot of the time the highs felt like an acid trip or mescaline. I've even hallucinated off of some oil.

Hashish is psychedelic, particularly at higher doses. If you don't know what it might have been cut with, I think that the serotonin syndrome is unlikely, especially since you say this has been going on for weeks (serotonin syndrome usually resolves within a few days).
The only suggestion I can make is to see a doctor.
Perhaps someone else here will have some ideas?-elizabeth

I was going to say it sounds like withdrawal.. I siffered this with Paxil withdrawal, but alot worse with effexor cold turkey withdrawal... I smoked alot of hash then as it chilled me out and made me sleepy, and I often felt like I was "tripping out".

I'm going through it now. It's deffinately Paxil withdrawal. I've even taken it very slow in decreasing my dosage. Should start getting better soon.
