serotonin syndrome what can I do?

Posted by AVR on August 5, 2001, at 18:40:15

I have taken Paxil for 2 years for my dysthymic problems and terrets syndrome/gad/panic/anxiety and smoked a lot of hash oil( several times a day every day) that was cut with chemicals affecting serotonin levels. I just didn't know at the time. Now I have almost all of the symptoms of serotonin syndrome. ( racing heart which will occur out of the blue, tremmors, speach slurs, diahrea, I am confused half of the time, I feel like I am not even here. I am off of the Paxil now for a month. How long will these symptoms occur? Will this syndrome correct itself? I am going to start taking wellbutrin and maybe add a benzo later on if my anxiety is too great to cope with. I am going to wait until I feel normal before I start the wellbutrin though. I am afraid to go to my doctor because he probably doesn't know anything about seritonin syndrome and he will probably just tell me it's something else. I truely hate this plz help!
