I was just thinking about this. Since Parkinson's seems to be rooted in some kind of hypofunction of the dopamine system, and some atypical depressions (like mine) are also best treated with dopaminergic agents, is there any indication that depressives are more likely than most to develop Parkinsosn's later on?

I'm not sure. I believe, if my memory is correct, that for some people with Parkinsons depression is a symptom before the disease is diagnosed.

So my guess is, Parkinson would be a good thing b/c, it would blunt out depression.

I'm not sure if I understand your post correctly.
If someone could choose, I'm sure they would pick neither. Though for myself, I'd rather stick with depression. I think Parkinsons is a degenerating disease.
Here's yahoo's descreption http://health.yahoo.com/health/Diseases_and_Conditions/Disease_Feed_Data/Parkinson_s_disease/
It does list depression as a symptom.

Sorry everyone for being so bitter. I am glad what I said didn't make sense because, that idea was going through my head in mixed up form.

My understanding of your response was that the parkinsons would cover up the depression. No apology needed. I'm presuming that things aren't going too well right now for you if you feel bitter. Sunny days ahead for you soon hopefully!!
