remeron ADHD

Posted by Angela momoftwins on October 26, 2000, at 20:52:32

I have twin 8 year old boys who suffer from sever ADHD,
anxioties and a sleeping disorder. They started remeron one week ago and it has seemed to work wonders
for their sleeping problems and anxioties and we have been able to cut down on the amount of dexidrine used for their adhd. I guess I should tell you what the medicines were before last week: 10 mg of dexidrine at 7am/12pm/3pm 10 mg prozac and 1.5 mg of risperadol.
now they are on 7.5 mg of remeron at 7am & 10mg dexidrine at 12pm and 7.5 mg remeron at 6:30 pm.
I have said many times this week I have recieved a mirical from God (since i was at my wits end last week and i asked Him for help because I didnt feel I would be able to handle another week of the boys acting the way they had been for the last 2 months) or a combination of both a mirical and the brilliance of their Dr. for trying remeron. I have seen little side effects from the remeron except the increased appitite but they had that since they were on the riseradol.
I would appriciate any feed back from anyone but especially those who have experienced this medication with Kids.
God Bless
Angela

I haven't had your experience but I just wanted to say that I'm glad you found a good combination for your kids. I'm sure you are relieved of the frustration of the medicine trying routines. Best wishes for continued success!
