Has anyone noticed this in association with depression,
or in switching antidepressants?

Is this the first time this has happened? Any fever, rash or anything in addition? How old are you? Are you on any antibiotics too? Jennifer

jojo,
I recently read that it is a sign of Omega 3 depletion, which is associated with depession and Bipolar Disorder. When I take Flax Oil, I notice that dry feet/heels and peeling skin on the tips of fingers goes away. www.barleans.com has the best, freshest flax oil at a decent price.
Just a thought but have you been cleaning with bleach or cleanser lately? My skin is apparently very sensitive and bleach will do that every time. Antibacterial soap is very harsh, too. It took me a while to figure it out but I don't buy the antibacterial dish soap any more, for that reason.

Not really. Maybe. I don't know...: )

> ThanksWish I could be of more help. I know some who have taken mega doses of Omega 3s for mega $, with less than miraculous results. My mom says she can feel the difference in energy and focus when she runs out, though, and she's only taking the recommended dose on the bottle. It's worth a try, I suppose. So is Ginkgo Biloba - increasing blood flow everywhere in your entire body can't really be a bad thing.

I have also made this connection:
1 T of Flax seed oil a day helps give me relief of dandruff and dry skin.Janice
Give it a try. I believe most of the benefits of taking these oils are long term and probably wouldn't be discernable or measurable.

> KarenThanks Karen, I just read your follow up. This is
not due to bleach or cleanser.
It appears when I stop taking antidepressants,
and I first noticed it before I started taking
antidepressants, 540 moons ago. I thought that it
might be a common occurance in depression, and
that no one had taken note of it before. It's
an easy thing to overlook.
This is the end of the thread.
