Dear Dr. Bob, when it says that "submitting a message grants [you] the right to unrestricted use of it.", does that mean that you own the post? For example, if I post a poem that I have written, which hasn't been copyrighted, do you then own my poem? Admittedly, they're not great poems, but some have been appropriate to specific threads. If, for some odd reason, you wanted to "use" my poem, would I be entitled to be credited for writing it?
Sorry to bother you with this, but as much as I like you, I still don't want you to "own" my poetry :^)
Thanks for your time. CarolAnn

CarolAnn -
Sorry to speak for the Doc, but I read through the FAQ page recently, and it says you own the copyright but grant unrestricted use to Dr. Bob. So he could sell it all he wants, technically, but so could you. Anyone else would need either your permission or his to use your intellectual product.

You would still be the owner and definitely credited as the author. I just want to be able to quote what's posted.
And don't assume they're not great! I hadn't thought about selling poetry, but if I did, you'd get royalties. :-)

CarolAnn - I'd love to read some of your poetry if you decide to share it. I've found that even when people don't think their poetry is good, other people often can enjoy it/ relate to it.
Take care, Kath

I don't object at all, but now you've got me wondering: in what situation would you be quoting Babble posts?

Do you have copies of your talks online that we could read? I would be very interested.

I use web pages as slides, so yes, they're all online. If you don't have anything better to do, they're at:

I think more people would pay to register if every week we got to vote to cast someone out.
This board is turning MEAN!!!!! Or you could raise money by auctioning off the right to block someone else from the board. This place really puts the psycho back in psychobabble (in a whimsical kind of way). O.
