In reply to unrestricted use of posts, Dr. Bob? please answer, posted by CarolAnn on May 29, 2000, at 9:39:36
> Dear Dr. Bob, when it says that "submitting a message grants [you] the right to unrestricted use of it.", does that mean that you own the post? For example, if I post a poem that I have written, which hasn't been copyrighted, do you then own my poem? Admittedly, they're not great poems, but some have been appropriate to specific threads. If, for some odd reason, you wanted to "use" my poem, would I be entitled to be credited for writing it?
You would still be the owner and definitely credited as the author. I just want to be able to quote what's posted.
And don't assume they're not great! I hadn't thought about selling poetry, but if I did, you'd get royalties. :-)
