JenStar,
Ordinarily you would have the usual series of forms to fill out and the intensive interviewing process to determine if you meet the stringent requirements of the Yo-Yo Sistahood... but if Mystic says it's official, we bypass all of the formalities. Welcome!

Hey Mrs. C,
Do not worry about your gland. You will be just fine. One of my paitents has OCD and it is such a horrible disease. Its almost as if this person is trapped in their mind. I was wondering if you had ever tried Luvox? Also I am wondering if you have ever thought of a mood stablelizer, such as Lamatical which could help even out some of that obsessing, you may even want to look into Respridol (sp) It is labeled as an anti-psychotic but has a lot of calming properties, we give it to some of our kids and it helps "take the edge off". Of course, I am not a meds expert just know what all my clients are on...Good luck, we all love you and are pulling for you!!

Lexy,
Thanks for your post. I have enjoyed many benefits of Lexapro but when it comes down to the worst of my OCD symptoms it doesn't really do the trick for me. Luckily for me my OCD isn't an everyday occurance. It's just when I develop some symptom of something. Like this gland. I probed it so much yesterday that my neck aches today. I worry, then I probe. Then I worry and probe. A horrible cycle. All the while I know that I am being silly but I can't help myself. I appreciate the input and will take any support I can get! How are you feeling today, any better? Mrs. C

Hi Jenstar, there is no waiting list to join the Yo Yo's. You just have to go up and down, up and down, like we all do and you're in!!This is such a great supportive and caring group and I rely on it so much. I am glad that you have found us, you seem to fit in very well. Thank you for your advice about my gland. I just obsess over being ill and every symptom that I can't explain brings me into this hole that I have to climb out of. I just feel so hopeless, like I am gonna die and there is just no reason to feel happy. It really sucks. Lexapro has helped me to deal with these feelings a little better but it's my friends here that really do the trick. Thanks. Mrs. C

hi Mrs. C and all,
thank you for welcoming me to the club! I will try to be as cool and fun as all of you. :)Mrs. C, in honor of your gland troubles, I wrote you a poem. It should be spoken aloud, as if by one of those rappers with the falling-off pants:
Mrs C. has the baddest
gland in the land
if I was there
I would hold her hand
I wish she could run on the beach
in the sand
and about her OCD
I really understandDon't forget to wear some bling-bling when performing this soon-to-be famous song!
Seriously, I hope you're feeling better. Please don't worry too much (I know, easy for ME to say.) Keep us updated on how you're doing.

hi Mrs. C.,
it's nice to meet people who obsess about health like I do. I mean, I'm not GLAD that you obsess (I wish you didn't, of course) but since you do, it's nice to able to share stories and know that I'm not the only one. For me, too, it's a sanity check to go here and find people who won't judge me as odd or strange just because I have a new health worry every day.

Oh, Mrs C I cannot believe this . . . I have a swollen gland in my neck now!! I had my teeth cleaned today and asked my dentist if he thought it might be from my teeth or gums and he said no, so I asked him if he thought I should see my doctor. He was so calm, it was disgusting . . . he said "oh, I wouldn't run to the doctor every time you have a little swollen gland; just wait and see if it gets better on its own". I think that is called "rational thinking" - - wish I could grab the concept (*smile*).
Hang in there, kid . . . I bet we both get better:~) But you are right about the OCD; it is probably here to stay (ugh!)
Worst part is . . . now I am obsessing about needing to wear gloves and a mask when I post!! (LOL)

Hey, Jen . . . I am not into rap, but I sang your song in my head to the tune of "Don't Worry Baby" by the Beach Boys and it sounded pretty good (*smile*).
Welcome to the sistahood; Mystic can always use another backup singer (LOL). Hey, we could call you "Heidi and the Mystics". What do you think, Simus? (Lexy, if you are reading this, be sure and book this group for the show!!)
Again, welcome Jen . . . you have found a good group to hang out with:~)

jlynne,
If you "talk" to her, give her our sympathy and tell her she is in our prayers.

> It seems that my OCD is back. I spent every spare minute today worrying about my gland in my neck. Feeling it and obsessing over it. Feeling hopeless that something is terribly wrong with me but not even sure if the gland is even swollen. It is very small and I am probably making it worse by probing it constantly. I honestly cannot control the urge to check it every spare minute. Have any of you had experiences like this.
Not that experience exactly, but other things like checking to make sure the doors are locked. You might think that isn't so bad, but on a bad day, by my 17th trip around the house to check doors that "I think I locked... but maybe not..." it is pretty clear this isn't normal behavior. When I fill out a form, any form, I check and double check and triple check to make sure all the fields are filled out properly, and then I am not sure I was really paying attention when I checked the first six times so I recheck... And I have mental checklists for everything. It can be extremely frustrating and exhausting to do even the simplest task on a "bad day". So I know how you feel. But for some reason the OCD seems to come and go, and I have been doing somewhat better lately.
> Sorry to bother you all with this and you must think I am totally nuts. I feel totally nuts believe me. I have noone else to share this with and it really helps to get it out.
Hey, no one thinks you are nuts. Share away. Most people wouldn't understand. But I dare say with all your Yo-Yo friends here, someone is likely to understand on some level anything you are going through.
> I hope that you guys still want me to be a yo yo.
Sorry, but you have to stay. You signed a lifetime contact and we cannot let you out. By the way, I doublechecked and triplechecked to make sure you signed your contract... or did I??? LOL
> I am really scared right now that I am always going to think I have some disease and I will never just be happy.
You have had better times before, and they will get better again. Don't give up hope on getting past this once and for all. Nothing is forever (well, except for your Yo membership).
God bless,
Simus

Simus, have I told you lately that I love you...wait...isn't that a song. OH NO, now I am singing to. AHHH! Anyway, thanks for your message. I don't think I realized that you suffered from OCD too. All the posts that I have received have really helped me. I already feel much better today and have not had to check my neck since this morning. That's good! Mrs. C

I talked with Trucker this evening . . . she said to tell you all thank you for the kind thoughts and the prayers. She is looking forward to going home so that she can process her feelings; she will share the details when she gets back.
She said she is planning on heading back Saturday morning, and there is a possibility that hubby might be able to meet up with her and provide a warm shoulder and a soft bed to catch some winks on the way home. (I get nervous about her driving all that way non-stop.)
And she is hoping to be back online for the b.d. par-tay on Sunday!!
God bless you, Trucker . . . we love you, sweetie.

I know what you mean, dear . . . I have been feeling a little disoriented the last few days, (probably the CANCER that is growing in my neck lol). Anyway, when I am feeling like this, my routines get all screwed up and I feel like I am losing control - and I get scared that I will do something (or FORGET to do something!) that will mess things up really bad. It's like the signals in my brain are mis-firing and the connections are just haphazard, and I do things like put the milk in the cupboard, or use my conditioner before I shampoo, or reach for things to the right that are (and always have been) on the left . . . and on and on. I will be glad when I am feeling better again - I much prefer the "some" days over the "others".
