The night owl sits here perched on her chair
While cat eyes look down from above the screen's glare, There are
Almonds for ration and light in a dark tomb
and One little corner in a virtual roomWhile in my little corner one breath at a time
No clock is heard ticking, no wind startles a chime
I feel invisible here in this place
Yet there is no one to judge me
At least not face to faceThis night owl is tired for she is unbound
Her wing's feathers are broken and her
Strength trickles down
While sitting here quietly one breath at a time
In a virtual corner writing virtual rhyme
So safe for a moment, Longing that it will last
For more than a moment when that moment has passedI should be beside my true love in our nest
Emotionally I am numb and my breath labors with restIn my little corner one breath at a time
Perhaps senseless and abysmal as a virtual mime
Where my actions might be visible yet my voice is not heard
Where I express my ideas with virtual wordsTime seems to be frozen, even though it's not so
My hands they are feeble and my mind is so slow
One breath at a time, in my little virtual nook
I exist in a dream in a babbling brook.
