a little humor - non-fiction

Posted by survivor2007 on February 6, 2007, at 23:51:43

I was watching an episode of "Snapped" where women "snap" and kill their husbands. It was on the dentist, Clara ??? who ran over her husband with her car in the parking lot of the Hilton that he was in with his mistress. It started out with a nice little background piece on Clara and her lovely life. I began thinking of what my introduction would be and started laughing silly.

Here it is...

Names may be changed to protect the innocent (or guilty). :diablo:

In 2007, Tabatha was in the prime of her life. At 35 years old, she had everything a woman could want. A non-committal man, a 1976 two bedroom trailer with mold pouring down the sides, no matter how many times she scrubbed it back off, a 1983 Station wagon in perfect unrestored condition, and two children that had been taken from her during a time in her life that she didn't have the cognitive ability to make rational decisions, yet none of her 'blood' family stepped in to counsel her.

She wiled away her days in excruciating pain from FibroMyalsia, two herniated disks, no doctors to prescribe her pain medication due to the over-excited state of America and the "war on drugs", receiving her pain medication rather by the INTERNET, in sheer terror every time a Ford Taurus drove by that it was the undercover FBI agents coming to take her to jail.

As if this lifestyle wasn't glorious enough, she started experiencing the joy of the "let down" sensation in her breasts and found that excessively curious as she had a botched hysterectomy 7 years before in which her surgeon 'accidental' left in her cervix, which in her case was extremely marvelous due to the fact that she had been raped at the age of 3 by her mother's second husband who had herpes and passed the virus onto her. You may not know this fantastic detail, but herpes increases the risk of cervical cancer by ???%.

It may not be possible to relate to such a woman as not many people experience this type of joy and happiness in their lives. Why would Tabatha "snap" like that and kill her husband? Certainly, something had to be seriously wrong for her to have such a violent reaction.

Could it be that she was also blessed with Bipolar Disorder and Borderline Personality Disorder? Could it be that the fact her breasts were literally excreting breast milk 10 years after the birth of her last child while she suffered bouts of fatigue so severe she couldn't even do daily tasks such as the laundry without running out of breath?

Maybe it was the chest pains, the palpitations of the heart, the intolerance to cold, the sweats, the chronic insomnia, the muscle pain, the depression, mood swings, the anger, the irritability?

Inside her rotting trailer, located in rural Tennessee, she had it all. Even the support and understanding of her 'life partner'. He was so compassionate by expressing his anger to her that she didn't "get pretty for him". So loving and generous that he mulled over and over again about her insomnia and how they never slept in the same bed and how he felt lonely and unloved. If only he worked a great job, had $4K in CASH in the house, had health insurance...and could offer her some assistance...WAIT HE DOES HAVE ALL THOSE THINGS AND STILL DOESN'T OFFER TO HELP HER - TO MARRY HER - IF ONLY FOR THE HEALTH BENEFITS. NOPE.

Tabatha really had the good life, especially when her 'master' offered to help her buy a car after her head gasket blew. Being on disability, Tabatha didn't have much left over to buy a new car. Crashed credit due to years of undiagnosed/untreated Bipolar, she was so happy he was finally turning around and trying to extend some of the good will God had so lovingly lavished onto him. Oh, but to her surprise, two weeks later he decided that he would rather try and move into a house and needed the money for a down payment. He needed the house because he loves to tinker on cars and he needed a garage to do that... So I guess Tabatha may have experienced some disappointment during that episode.

Or perhaps she felt bad after getting in a small argument with her 'life partner' over her not coming to bed to 'snuggle' during another long, never ending period of insomnia. Tabatha told him that all she needed was $400 to get some sleep medication. All the others she tried didn't work... and he stared blankly into her face. Later, at dinner, he mentioned the sound system he wanted to get for his car. It would probably only cost around $300- $400. Medicaid wanted half of her disability check as 'spend down' which was so ludicrous (sp) since it wouldn't leave her with enough money to buy gas and food through the month. So, Tabatha had to pay for all her medical care out of her pocket.

Certainly the life that Tabatha had didn't seem to be one in which many would be willing to trade in for the death penalty, but hey - some things you just never understand.
