Inside And Out

Posted by leslieamy8 on September 14, 2005, at 22:45:40

She walks into the room, her mind reeling with thoughts of utter disdain. She knows how this evening is going to go and she braces herself for a series of inane conversations. She stands within a small circle of friends and silently questions their sincerity. She wonders what they truely think, what they really see when they look into her eyes. She often feels like this for she has an overwhelming need to be well liked, accepted. She takes a deep breath, puts on a smile that belies her uneasiness, and speaks to the woman on her right. 'I'm ok for now' (she thinks), because she knows there is always time to cut later on.
