checked my messages
only one had come thru
the cops wanted to speak to me
about a problem I'd had, cause I had a fewNo big deal, my old man taught me the drill
when an officer speaks to you
you show your good will
About "an Affray"...now, really that's quaint
maybe a "meelee" but
well, it just ain't.
I hit a bar with a friend or two
and this guy...guess he has problems
'cause I put my hand in my pocket for an
extra round or two
What the hell's wrong with feeling no pain,
and the juke box is ringing
and you feel happy again
like when you were a kid and lfe was just fun
Then this rancid S.O.B wanted to nail me one.
Sweet, Jesus Christ, it's hard enuff to work
but people were having fun
except for just one jerk
I just got the hell out...
least I think it was me
but sometimes I'm not myself tho I think I may be.
And this sorry specimen follows me out,
he looks demented and crippled
said it was "his shout"
And I said what I said but you know it didn't
come out as I thought I'd intended
And a whole bunch of people are like a choir in lights and they were urging him on
they wanted a fight.
I don't know what I wanted, because I am not quite right.
Like I said, I tried to help him up when he fell, and maybe I might'
have applied a coupla boater's to his ribs
they said he took a swipe with a bottle
but maybe you know how it is
all dazed and confused...
but I was way the hell bigger and he was, okay'
a pathetic drunken, f*ck
so why did I kick him when I tried to help him up?
The officer who spoke to me could've been my kid. He asked me what happened, I told him what did. How this guy got p*ssed cause I was buying a round. Turns out this is his way of
going to ground.
three hots and a cot, no nasty world going
round and kicking you in the ribs when you're just trying to stay down....Cockeyed.[a yam or a sweet potato; is there any difference? And does anything matter until it's in print]
