Yes, it was my father I was referring to. He died when I was young, a difficult thing to witness.
As for Dogma, I just watched it again recently, great movie, in my opinion that is. And yeah, I remember the conversation you mentioned, possibly the only serious part of the movie, and thought provoking as well.
