Hi Atticus:

This poem really touched me very personally. As one who suffers from pretty severe abandonment issues..."of the broken and forsaken" which I have struggled with it seems my entire life, the second part..."to smooth and soothe her furrowed brow" is a salve to this unwanted, seemingly permanent wound of mine. Plus this poem is so full of love and acceptance, something that I have rarely experienced in a relationship (platonic or romantic) with a man. It's comforting to know that this is the case with a friend and could one day (if I can ratchet down the insecurity) occur in a romance.

your devoted friend,

malthus
