Hollywood--poem

Posted by Angela2 on September 15, 2004, at 20:11:13

Late at night
I go in my room
I pull down the shades
And turn up the stereo
I practice my acceptance speech
For when I win a golden globe
And in my mind
They announce my name
It's the most honorable moment
Because out of anyone
They picked me
All my numbness vanishes
And it feels good

An average girl, a sad girl
I crawl into bed
And fall asleep
Dreaming of you

Oh Hollywood,
Only you can save me
I know that you will save me
If all I had was you
I'd never wish upon the stars again

Kids go to parties
on Friday night
But I go to the video store
And Rent Romeo and Juliet
At home
I watch movies
In the comfort of my dark room
Alone
Happy
And I pretend
that I am Claire Danes
In my bathroom mirror
I make the expressions
of her face

Hollywood.
An actor
A director
A multi-million dollar deal
A lonely girl's fantasy
