Well I think you have described clearly how sad and horrendous it would be to find your son, who you have loved and tried to understand since his birth, in such a state.
I am heart wrenched.Mental illness in my family seems to hit the first born the hardest.
You are the first born in your family.
What was your father in his family?
Did your parents stay together?Since my mothers whole family had one illness or another...
seems their illness were spread out.
Maybe the chemistry between my grandmother and grandfather was too toxic.I was used to mental illness.
It almost seemed normal.
So it was a shock to me to find out others had normal mom's and dad's.
My family was so intelligent, verbal, artistic and creative....I just thought that's how life was.Well...it's not.
So I wonder if you were a changling.
If I had not found my son, who I gave up for adoption, I would have sworn it was you. Really you seem like the son I thought I would have had.
But I did find my son and that's a whole different story.
The one thing I am happy for is that these people love you, I can tell. They seem devoted to you too. What a strong base to function from. Some of the greatest artists have come from families that were surprised by their childs talent.
You are the gift.
I love unwrapping you when I read each poem. I love the unfolding of your genius.
I am a witness to your creativity.
I am happy.
Thank you.
