I really know so little about book publishing that I wouldn't know where to start in attempting to make contact with anyone who could get them into print. There are only 16 of them at the moment. I don't know how many a typical book of poetry contains these days, but I'm sure it's more than that. I'd certainly consider it, but might want to publish them under a pen name. At this point, I see them as primarily therapeutic. I sometimes wonder what Dr. Bob makes of them, if anything. No idea about a book title. Since my poem titles typically come about organically (I pick a line or image out of the poem after it's written), perhaps the book's title would emerge the same way, from a poem I haven't written yet. As for the poems themselves, they just keep coming. It's as if the subject matter was all stacked up in my head for the past eight years, just waiting for the opportunity to come tumbling out. I'll think, hmmm, I haven't written about that, then go through that process of gathering up "film clips" connected with the event that I described to you earlier. This has been a satifyingly productive week, so right now I feel very tired mentally and emotionally but at peace. As I recount more and more of the events that have shaped who I am and where I am in my life, I feel increasingly calm; it's as if the stories demand to be told, and won't take no for an answer. I'm just glad I've regained the clarity to tell them, although typing for too long does make my left wrist ache. Do you know anything about book publishing? Maybe a collection of poems like this would be helpful to other people who have been or are in my situation. Atticus
