a quiet day

we are eager to say I love you
it's become a joke
a sweet contest
"I love you more than you can ever know"
"But I really love you...I'm not kidding either"
we repeat this every night as our bedroom doors are closing
the night is here and you are there
my body glows with our love
it has been a quiet day
