What Should Never Be (a poem about love)

Posted by LOOPS on May 31, 2004, at 9:43:38

If only you knew
How much I feel.
Where my dreams rest.

Close your eyes.
Can you see the pain?
My desire be your cup
My longing your ocean.

If only I knew
How much you feel
Is it true?

Where lies your mind?
It seems so long ago.
Can you feel?

Hours turn to days,
A knife cuts the world in two,
The pieces lie in my past.

Can you see me at all?
Don't forget.

The noose tightens
My hope is a boat set adrift
Can't this be?

The silence burns me.
Give me my life once more.
Away from this nothing
that has sheltered my being for so many years.

Give me my life.
